The former Nipomo Titan is having a breakout season for the New York Mets, and on Sunday, Jeff McNeil found out that he will be heading to Cleveland on July 9 for the MLB All-Star Game as an NL reserve.
McNeil leads the Mets in hits and batting average, and after adding three more hits in Sunday’s win over the Braves, including the go-ahead 2-run single in the 8th inning, the Central Coast native is hitting .348 on the season, which leads the majors.
