Righetti junior Ryan Delgado started Saturday’s quarterfinal game against Liberty on the mound, and he ended it getting mobbed by his teammates after smashing the game-winning hit to center field, as the Warriors defeated the Patriots, 3-2, and advanced to the CIF Central Section Division 1 semifinals.
“He threw it to me right down the middle, and my eyes lit up and I just swung,” Delgado said. “I’ve had a game-winning hit before but not like this one. I never had an experience like this before.”
Righetti will Host Frontier High School next Wednesday in the semifinals.
