The Allan Hancock baseball team was defeated by Ventura College, 8-3, in a Western State-North Conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon at John Osborne Field.

Thanks to home runs by Reed Odland and Jake Shusterich, and a sac-fly by Ryan Pearce, the Bulldogs stormed out to the 3-0 lead after four innings.

Ventura’s offense came alive in the middle innings.

The Pirates cut the deficit to 3-2 in the fifth inning with the help from an RBI single off the bat of Riley Langerman.

Ventura then grabbed the lead for good in the sixth inning after putting up a six-spot on the Bulldogs.

Junior Sandoval and Baylor Tovar smacked RBI doubles, Langerman brought Tovar in with a single, and Gabe Baldovino earned an RBI the easy way as he walked in Langerman.

Allan Hancock (19-19, 9-10) will conclude its regular season on Thursday at Ventura, first pitch is scheduled for 2:30 P.M.
