Thanks to a game-winning RBI single from Irene Sias with two outs in the seventh inning, The Cuesta Cougars won their third conference game of the season, defeating Santa Barbara 3-2 at home on Friday afternoon.
Cuesta shortstop and Templeton grad Katie Murphee doubled and stole third, before another Templeton grad drove her home, as Kat Cline’s two-out single gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the third inning.
The win over Santa Barbara snaps Cuesta’s five-game losing streak. The Cougars travel to Bakersfield on Tuesday.
