Four St. Joseph Knights football players signed their National Letters of Intent Thursday afternoon inside the St. Joseph High School library.

Chase Artopoeus, the quarterback, signed as a preferred walk-on to UCLA, linebacker Zak Wilson signed to Missouri Western, wide receiver Trevor Cole signed as a preferred walk-on to Boise State, and Nathan Halsell, the kicker, signed to Arizona.

First-year head football coach Pepe Villasenor says it’s a proud day for the program and the high school.

“I’m very proud of them. I don’t think many people thought that they’d go to the schools that they’re going to,” Villasenor said. “They have certainly set a standard that I hope continues to be present here at St. Joseph.”

He continued, “I’m not only proud of what they’ve accomplished on the field, but definitely on our campus and community. It’s very important to me and our staff.”
