The Ventura Pirates scored four runs in the sixth, and tacked on two more in the eighth to beat Hancock, 8-5, at John Osborne Field on Saturday. The loss snaps the Bulldogs’ four-game win streak.
Ventura struck early, putting up a two-spot in the top of the first. But Hancock responded in the bottom of the third. Zach Rudd’s two-run single gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead. Ismael Hernandez RBI double extended Hancock’s lead to 4-2.
