Rayann Booker of Righetti and Jeffrey Ray of Allan Hancock College were named athletes of the week at the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table in Santa Maria.
Booker, the female athlete of the week, is a star sprinter for the Righetti track & field team. Last week at the CCAA Meet, Booker won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.05. On Saturday at the Maurice Green Meet at Oaks Christian High School, Booker won the 100-meter dash again with a time of 12.18 and also anchored the 4×100-meter relay team which captured the meet record with a time of 49.52.
Ray, the male athlete of the week, is a freshman infielder for the Allan Hancock College baseball team. Ray is coming off a week in which he recorded eight hits, seven runs, an RBI, and a stolen base in three games. On Saturday, in a 9-5 victory over Oxnard, Ray went 4-for-5 and scored four runs.
