The 2019 Cal Poly Alumni Baseball Game, scheduled for Saturday inside Baggett Stadium, has been canceled due to wet weather forecasted for Friday night through Tuesday.

At least one Major Leaguer was expected to play — Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger — but others were to be in attendance and will participate in the First Pitch Banquet, which will be held inside Mott Athletics Center at 6 p.m.

That list includes former Mustang pitchers Bud Norris and Kevin Correia along with ex-Righetti High School, Oklahoma State and 16-year Major League player Robin Ventura. Ventura also managed the Chicago White Sox for five seasons.

The First Pitch Banquet includes a barbecued meal prepared by the Baggett Barbecue Crew, an auction and a Q&A with Correia and Ventura.

Cost of the First Pitch Banquet, co-sponsored by Firestone Grill and Slime, is $75 ($30 for children 12 and under).
