The Allan Hancock College football team captured its second straight American Pacific League title as they pounded LA Harbor, 55-14, on Saturday afternoon in Santa Maria.

The Bulldogs exploded the scoreboard in the 1st quarter. Freshman running back Jayden Vargas got it all started with a 13-yard touchdown run, which included a hurdle of a defender and a dive for the pylon. Vargas finished the day with 13 carries for 120 yards.

Hancock’s defense was responsible for the game’s second score as Jaquez McWilliams scooped up a fumbled pitch inside the Seahawks’ five-yard line and returned it for the touchdown.

Bulldogs quarterback Thomas Carr hooked up with wide receiver Pierre Moudourou for a pair of touchdowns in the opening half, the longest going for 58 yards. Carr ended his afternoon with 139 yards passing, while Moudourou finished with 128 yards receiving. Hancock led LA Harbor 41-7 at halftime.

Hancock, now back-to-back undefeated league champions, will host a bowl game at Righetti High School next Saturday night.
