KSBY’s Friday Night Highlights Week 11 ‘Game of the Week’ features Channel League champions, Lompoc hosting Capistrano Valley.
The Braves wrapped up the regular season going undefeated in the Channel League at 5-0 for yet another league title.
Lompoc is also sitting on a six-game winning streak, one that includes a 63-0 shutout over Cabrillo.
The Braves received home-field advantage for the CIF Southern Section Division 3 opening round against Capistrano Valley. The Cougars only won one league contest but are considered a top 80 California team, according to MaxPreps.
“They’re a battle intensive football team. Their quarterback’s a stud. Defense is very good. They have three losses to two Division 1 teams and one Division 2 team,” said Andrew Jones, Lompoc head coach. “It’s playoff time. Definitely, the best team for sure that we faced all year. It’s going to be a tough task for us. Hopefully, we get healthy for tomorrow and be ready to roll.”
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Lompoc High School on Friday.
