Jayson Garcia of Pioneer Valley and Allan Hancock’s Tatiana Silva were named Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table Athletes of the Week.
Silva scored two goals for the Bulldogs soccer team last week. The sophomore has nine goals on the season, making her the team’s leading scorer. That’s six more than anyone else on the team.
“Our coaches are trying new and different drills with us to get through with people,” Silva said. “So people open more and that’s working.”
Garcia was named the Male Athlete of the Week for his performance during the Panthers 44-6 win over Morro Bay. The senior quarterback passed for 153 yards, rushed for 105 yards, and scored three touchdowns.
“I work hard every week. each practice I try to motivate my team and and focus the whole way, all the way to Friday night,” Garcia said.
