KSBY’s Friday Night Highlights Week 5 ‘Game of the Week’ will be a smash mouth battle as Righetti hosts Dos Pueblos.
After finishing as CIF Southern Section runners-up last season, the Chargers have picked up where they left off entering the matchup at 3-1.
Dos Pueblos enjoyed a bye last Friday in Week 4, that coming after a dominating victory over Buena, 41-7, in Week 3.
The Chargers say the Warriors will be one of their biggest tests so far, and they’re looking forward to the battle on Friday night.
"This is a perfect bench mark," Dos Pueblos head coach Doug Caines said. "We got our butts beat pretty bad a few weeks ago, and we’ve kind of been riding a high since then. This will be a great gauge to see where we are athletically and team-wise. Righetti is a very good opponent so this should tell us exactly where we are going into league."
"I think it’s exciting to see their hybrid running versus our hybrid running, and to see our matchup as we’re both power teams, and to see what we can really do up against this matchup," Dos Pueblos senior lineman Jackson Stetler added.
The Chargers and the Warriors will kickoff at 7 P.M. on Friday, September 21, at Righetti High School.
