The Cuesta College baseball team scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to secure a win over rival Allan Hancock College, 9-6.
After a 2-1 start for Cuesta in the first inning, the Cougars scored five unanswered runs, including a fourth inning RBI double by Andrew Navigato to make it 6-1.
Allan Hancock responded in the bottom of the fourth with three runs thanks to RBI base hits by Brenden Gomez and Shane Flaningam.
The Bulldogs eventually pulled even with the Cougars at 6-6, but Cuesta’s three-run ninth inning proved to be the difference.
Allan Hancock will travel to Cuesta on Tuesday, April 2 for a Western State-North rematch. Game time is 2:30 p.m.
