Sophia Villalba joined the KSBY team in September 2023 as a multimedia journalist.
She graduated with honors at San Francisco State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at SF State, Sophia was a part of the university’s broadcast ‘State of Events’ where she anchored, reported and produced weekly newscasts.
Before KSBY, Sophia was a production assistant for KRON4, a local news station in San Francisco, during her senior year of college. There she was a part of the KRON4 digital team writing stories, clipping reporter packages and assisting the web team.
Born and raised in Southern California, she enjoys kayaking with her dog when she visits home. In her free time, she loves trying new food places, exploring new areas and pranking people. Her favorite food is dessert!
She is also an early riser!
Sophia is happy to be living on the Central Coast and sharing stories from across the region and, specifically, the North Coast of San Luis Obispo County.
