Parts of California may still face the most challenging fire weather conditions yet

The Central Coast may get off easy for the next offshore wind event. We will see some locally gusty NE winds during the night and morning hours up to 20mph, those higher wind speeds should be the exception rather than the rule.

Locally the impact of the pattern will be cold overnight lows in the interior where some freezing conditions are possible the next few mornings.
Another impact is air quality, the fires burning to the north and south will introduce higher particulate matter to the air, and air quality alerts are already in place.

The local offshore winds during the night and morning hours will turn back onshore each day in the afternoon up to 20+mph near the coast.
Halloween weather looks mild locally.

The winds across northern and southern CA have much higher potential over the next few days with gusts for 50-60mph in northern Ca and 50-70mph in southern California with very dry relative humidities, the fire threat is extreme, perhaps the worst of the year

Late this week we’ll see more sustainable onshore winds which should bring back some marine influence Friday and Saturday.
