Snofari Frozen Yogurt is a family business that has been around the community for over ten years.
It is located on Madonna Road in San Luis Obispo and run by the owner, Peter Shaker, along with his wife and three kids.
However, when the coronavirus struck, Shaker said they had to close their doors.
"It was definitely very, very hard for us," he said. "This is our only income. So when we got the shelter-at-home order, we stayed home."
After being closed for about seven weeks, Shaker said they decided to reopen due to the high number of phone calls asking when they were going to come back.
"We decided to come back and take certain precautions to make sure we protect ourselves and protect our customers," he said. "It's been working, customers like it and we feel safe, customers feel safe."
Some precautions the store has taken include providing plastic gloves for customers, sanitizing topping spoons after one use, using Clorox wipes to clean everything, along with having a sneeze guard at the register.
Shaker said he was thankful for everyone who has supported their business during this time.
"We're all in this together," he said. "This is a hard time for everybody, but it's really bringing out the best in our community."
