Gus's Grocery in San Luis Obispo is still open and dedicated to serving the community.
Though business is down, three year owner Shannon Koester is there 10 hours a day serving her customers with gratitude.
Koester had served as Gus's Grocery's general manager for 16 years before owning the popular spot for the last few years. She's earned some loyal customers along the way.
She said that a few once-a-week customers have turned into everyday customers to help support the place.
"I'm grateful for the people that are coming in. I'm extremely grateful for the customers that are still supporting us and keeping us open right now, because if it wasn't for them, I don't know if I could do this," said Shannon Koester, owner of Gus's Grocery.
Along with delicious sandwiches, Gus's Grocery offers delivery for beer and wine.
They are located at 1638 Osos Street in San Luis Obispo.
