After weeks of being closed, San Luis Obispo’s Budget Cafe is open once again.
The restaurant has been serving traditional American food for 18 years.
While only open right now for takeout, loyal customers are excited, some even setting up their own makeshift table in the parking lot.
"We've had some pretty happy customers that have come back and they've been really pleased to see me and I've been very, very pleased to see them,” said owner Rhonda Mayeda. “It's both ways, you know, because my customers are family.”
Mayeda says the past two months have been hard, but they are excited to serve people again and are looking forward to being able to fully reopen.
The Budget Café is located at 3121 S Higuera St # J across from the DMV.
