A local restaurant is helping feed seniors during the coronavirus crisis.

The owner of the Sea Shanty in Cayucos, Carol Kramer, says a man reached out to her, explaining he wanted to partner up and feed local seniors.

They started out by serving 15 people, then it quickly grew to 50.

Now the Cayucos Chamber of Commerce and other local residents are donating money for these meals.

"It's made a real connection with the community and keeps us involved," Kramer said. "Also, they get to see some people every other day so we can check on them, see if everything is fine."

Kramer says the restaurant has been open for 38 years. Over that time, they've watched kids grow up and have kids of their own. Now they're helping feed the community in a time of need.

The restaurant remains open daily for to-go orders and local delivery. Visit the Sea Shanty's website to view the menu.
