A Santa Maria cafe is partnering with a local church to feed staff in the critical care unit at Marian Regional Medical Center.
Moxie Cafe has teamed up with South Valley Church to provide breakfast burritos, coffee and kombucha once a week for the next four weeks.
Moxie is also helping feed homeless families three meals a day at a local hotel.
"One of our goals is to be a part of our community, from buying local to serving local, so we, right now, are just trying to be of service to our community," says Moxie General Manager Robert Grimmesey.
The Moxie Cafe, which opened in 2014, has stayed open for online ordering, take-out and delivery.
Grimmesey says the business, located at 1317 W. McCoy Lane, has been able to keep all of its employees.
The Moxie Cafe, a 100% employee-owned branch of Hardy Diagnostics, is open every day from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
