A natural meat and sausage company in northern San Luis Obispo County remains open during shelter-at-home orders.
J&R Natural Meat and Sausage, with locations in Paso Robles and Templeton, specializes in local grass fed beef, pasture-raised pork and free-range chicken. The company is also a USDA Certified meat processor.
Unlike many local businesses, J&R says it has seen an increase in customers recently.
Business manager Carmen Kroeker says many people started stocking up their freezers once the pandemic hit.
"We're still fully stocked. We have plenty of meat to serve all of our customers. We're not running out and we're happy to fulfill curbside orders to help customers avoid contact,” Kroeker says.
J&R also offers a boxed meat club called Nourish, which is a monthly or quarterly subscription for beef, pork and chicken.
They ship for free anywhere in California.
