Hoagies Grill in Pismo Beach is adding a new option to its menu.
The restaurant is working with Cisco Foods to create a butcher box which will include four filet minions, two ribeyes, two New York steaks, half a chicken, and a whole tri-tip. It's expected to be available for pick-up starting this weekend.
In the meantime, the restaurant is making other changes to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic and stay-at-home orders, including adding a second phone line for to-go orders.
The breakfast menu has also been narrowed down to items that are easy to take on the go, such as burritos, tacos, and wraps.
"This is definitely one of the biggest weeks of our year. Typically, the valley will be on spring break, coming into Easter, so we count on it and, you know, for us to be only take-out, we're down about 50 to 60 percent in volume, but we're still able to keep it going and keep people working. That's our main concern at this point," said Jason Joseph, Hoagies co-owner.
Joseph says to-go orders used to be just 25 percent of their business, but now that's all they do.
