The A&W restaurant in Atascadero is planning to start serving customers once again this Saturday.
It's been closed since early March, but not because of the coronavirus pandemic. The restaurant had to shut down after a roofer fell through the roof and was injured.
They had prepared to re-open, but those plans were pushed back because of new restrictions.
"Once the roof collapsed, and one of the roof workers that was repairing it fell through, our insurance company, actually while we were closed, was able to pay all of our employees' salaries, which was nice, so no one had to get laid off," explained manager Spencer Cobata.
A&W has been open at 6435 Morro Avenue for 28 years.
Only the drive-thru will be open on Saturday when the restaurant reopens, but they're working on a plan to also offer take-out and curbside pick-up.
