“Adventure Awaits” is the slogan for the 130th annual Santa Barbara County Fair coming to the Santa Maria Fairpark this July 12-16.
Preparations for the fair are underway. The carnival rides have already arrived at the fairgrounds.
The fair is agricultural-focused and hosts one of the state’s largest junior livestock auctions. The event will feature award-winning wines, fine arts and entertainment for all ages, including shows, educational exhibits, petting zoos, pony rides, ax-throwing, a trackless train, and fair food for sale.
Attendees can watch live performances from artists like Ashley McBryde, Uncle Kracker and Switchfoot.
Each day of the fair has a different theme and deal for attendees. Wednesday is $5 admission for everyone before 5 p.m., Thursday is "Seniors Day" where admission for seniors is $5 before 5 p.m., Friday is "Cattleman's Day" with free admission for children, Saturday is free admission for military and law enforcement with a valid ID, and Sunday is Fiesta Day.
