Two children shot after throwing snowballs at passing cars, Milwaukee police say

MILWAUKEE — Two children were taken to the hospital after being shot for throwing snowballs at passing cars, Milwaukee police said.

The incident happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday on the 6100 block of West Birch St. Police found a 12-year-old child suffering from a gunshot wound. Just minutes later, police said they found a 13-year-old also suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said the two children were with a group of other juveniles throwing snowballs at passing cars. One of the snowballs hit a white Toyota, and the driver fired shots into the group of kids.

The children are being treated at an area hospital.
