More San Luis Obispo County Jail inmates, deputies test positive for COVID-19

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that an additional 21 inmates have tested positive for COVID-19 in San Luis Obispo County Jail.

These new cases are related to the outbreak which began on Dec. 10 and are all from inmates living in a dorm setting where previous cases have been identified.

The outbreak is linked to 62 cases.

Two other inmates tested positive on admission to the county jail and are unrelated to the outbreak.

None of the active cases have required hospitalization and all patients are being cared for at the facility.

Ten deputies have also tested positive for COVID-19; six of them are Correctional Deputies and four are Patrol Deputies.
