Wilshire Community Services is reaching out to help older adults and the disabled in San Luis Obispo County during the shelter-at-home order.

Volunteers are helping those who need it most by delivering groceries, driving people to their doctors appointments or even just spending time with them on the phone.

It is all part of Wilshire's Caring Callers and Good Neighbor programs that lend a helping hand and provide socialization opportunities for seniors and those with disabilities.

"It's really meant to keep our older adults connected with their community, so that they, you know, don't kind of just fade into the background," Division Manager Jessica Devereaux said of the Calling Callers program.
