Santa Barbara County firefighters and California State Parks Water Rescue Team members rescued a driver who was stuck between two swollen creeks on Refugio Road in the Gaviota Coast area.
Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Santa Barbara County Fire officials say the driver did the right thing by calling for help.
First responders found her parked on a high area of the road between the two flowing creeks about a half-mile up from Highway 101.
Rescue crews walked her through the water to safety. She was not injured.
Fire officials say they up-staffed their swift water rescue team this week in anticipation of possible water rescues.
