Grass Roots in San Luis Obispo held a Thanksgiving dinner for their 47th year at the Guild Hall Wednesday evening.
The event helps provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal for those in the community who may not be able to enjoy a typical turkey dinner.
"It has a life of its own," says organizer Peggy Fowler, "and it's a tradition and its such a wonderful holiday to share the spirit of gratitude with everybody."
Volunteers also delivered Thanksgiving meals to the homes of over 2,500 community members.
The food was provided through a local food drive and community help.
