Residents and visitors to the Baywood Park area celebrated the 41st Annual Oktoberfest and 14th Annual Car & Motorcycle Show on Sunday.

Participants had the option of going for a four-mile run when the event started around 9 a.m. Attendees could then enjoy the day listening to live music and entertainment while drinking local craft beer and wines from vendors in the beer garden.

There were also arts and crafts booths set up, as well as pet and people costume contests and activities for kids.

Those who come to show off their cars do it to keep the memories alive for people who may have seen or used the older vehicles in years’ past.

“It's nice to get the reaction and to share that with people and to hear their memories and their stories about it,” said Scott Keith, the owner of a 1972 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback.

The Oktoberfest event originally started back in 1977.

An estimated 6,000 participants travel to the event every year.
