A Lompoc elementary school was placed on a brief lockdown Friday morning.
The lockdown at La Honda STEAM Academy, located on the 1300 block of N A Street, was in place for about 20 minutes before being lifted around 11 a.m., according to school officials.
It was reportedly prompted by a suspicious person in the neighborhood.
Lompoc police say the lockdown was ordered after a report came in of a man with a rifle in the area. Police searched the area but never found anything suspicious.
