Suspect wanted by SLO County Sheriff's Office for mail theft, fraud

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help identifying a suspect accused of check fraud and mail theft in Grover Beach.

On Dec. 23, the Sheriff's Office says a man entered the Guadalajara Meat Market and fraudulently cashed a stolen check. They say the check was stolen from a mailbox in the 1400 block of Old Oak Park Road in rural Arroyo Grande between Dec. 15 and Dec. 20.

The Sheriff's Office says it believes this suspect may be linked to a number of mailbox thefts in the county.

Suspect description, according to SLO County Sheriff's Office:

  • Male, 18-25 years old
  • Medium build, dark hair
  • Wearing black ball cap with "SF" on the front, black Raiders t-shirt with "LV ESTABLISHED 1960 RAIDERS FOOTBALL"
  • Face cover with picture of a panting dog face
