Authorities arrested a 36-year-old man from San Luis Obispo after a short car chase on Thursday morning.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, deputies spotted a suspicious vehicle at the Octagon Barn in San Luis Obispo and when they began to approach the vehicle, the driver took off.

Sheriff's officials say deputies pursued the car southbound on Highway 101 to the Five Cities area.

Deputies reportedly discontinued the pursuit after another car struck the suspect's vehicle. The crash resulted in only minor damage and no one was hurt, but the suspect drove away.

The sheriff's office says police later found the vehicle in Arroyo Grande and a person matching the driver's description was taken into custody at the CVS store on Grand Avenue.

Sheriff's officials say the car involved was stolen and the suspect, identified as Abraham Robert Finnhowell, may be associated with other burglaries in the area.
