SMPD identifies suspect, victim in murder-suicide case

The Santa Maria Police Department has identified the two people who died in a suspected murder-suicide this month as Roberto Alcala Ramirez, 64, and Zoila Reyna Ramirez, 58.

The two were found dead, each suffering from a gunshot wound, at a home in the 800 block of West Creston on Jan. 16, 2020.

Police say the couple were husband and wife.

They identified Roberto Ramirez as the shooter but say investigators are still attempting to identify a motive.
