The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent inmate suicide at the Santa Barbara County Main Jail Sunday morning.
Just after 8 a.m., 61-year-old Scott Powers from Santa Barbara jumped from the second floor of a housing unit at the Main Jail Intake and Release Center.
Powers was transported to a nearby hospital but he later died from his injuries.
His death remains under investigation.
