Sheriff patrols at Coast Union High School in Cambria have increased following recent acts of vandalism.

School officials say trespassers were somehow able to gain access to the field earlier this much and used vehicles to damage the grass.

Since the latest incident on July 4, the school requested increased patrols from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office and the school also plans to add extra fencing for protection.

Estimates for damage were initially close to $2,000 but officials say the cost may be reduced as regrowth on the fields is progressing nicely.
