Organizers of the annual Shabang Music and Arts Festival announced Wednesday the May 2 event in San Luis Obispo will be canceled.
In a post on the festival's Instagram, organizers said people can use their tickets for next year's festival on May 1.
According to the post, only partial refunds will be available for ticket holders. Vouchers will be offered for the remaining value that can be applied to the next festival.
Organizers are asking people to avoid getting a refund if possible, saying the money will help keep the festival funded.
"Please trust that your investment will pay off as we promise you a future Shabang of a lifetime," organizers wrote. "Making it through this difficult time together is profoundly important. We will Shabang again as not only a festival, but as a reunited community."
The announcement says ticket purchasers will be contacted about next steps. Organizers say they will be accepting public questions or concerns regarding the festival.
