The City of San Luis Obispo says someone cut out and stole a large section of synthetic turf at Sinsheimer Park.

It reportedly happened sometime during the overnight hours on Monday, Oct. 7.

The turf was taken from the slide hill at the playground.

City officials say they've reviewed surveillance video from that night but have not yet been able to identify any suspects.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is urged to contact the San Luis Obispo Police Department at (805) 781-7312.

The city says it will cost about $10,000 to replace the turf. Repairs are expected to be completed in the next two weeks.
