UPDATE: Lockdown at SBCC ends after students, staff warned of 'armed intruder'

UPDATE (6:42 p.m.) - Santa Barbara City College officials say they have received an "all clear" from police and are lifting the campus lockdown.

(6:06 p.m.) - Santa Barbara City College staff and students received an alert message Wednesday evening warning about an "armed intruder."

"Armed intruder SBCC Main Campus Cliff Drive, take appropriate action, RUN HIDE OR FIGHT!" the text alert read.

Those who received the message were told to shelter in place.

In a post on Twitter, the college said Santa Barbara police were investigating a wanted subject in the area of the main campus and that the college was placed on a full lockdown.
