Employees at the Santa Barbara County Animal Services center are heading north to address a growing need.
Staff members Jessica Wiebe and J. Bixby left for Butte County, California to help with the growing North Complex Fire on Thursday, Septhember 17.
They will be helping with animal evacuations for the next five days.
As of Friday, September 18, the fire burned 284,437 acres and is 40 percent contained.
