The 14th annual Chumash Culture Day goes virtual in 2020 at 2:30 p.m on Friday, October 23.

The event begins with an opening blessing followed by the honoring of a Santa Ynez Chumash elder, then a host of California-style Native American singing and dancing before closing with a video that will show highlights from past Chumash Culture Days.

The virtual culture day can be viewed on the eventsFacebook page. The event was made virtual due to COVID-19 concerns.

In past years, the annual event, which has always been free and open to the public, featured arts and crafts, singing and dancing, and a traditional hand-game tournament at the Tribal Hall on the Santa Ynez Reservation.
