The Santa Maria Police Department announced on Tuesday that officers made an arrest in connection with a shooting last September.
The shooting was reported just before 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2020, in the 400 block of East Orange St.
Police say that when officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting but no victims. A short time later, they received word of a shooting victim that had been taken to Marian Regional Medical Center.
The victim was a juvenile, and police say the shooting was gang-related.
The suspect, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
