The city of Santa Maria will be upgrading a bike path with a $2.5 million dollar grant.

The Battles Road pedestrian and bike path will be renovated with landscaping, lighting and artwork.

This is thanks to the Clean California grant awarded to the city.

The project aims to encourage biking as a way of transportation.

It will also repave a walking route from Depot Street to College Drive.
