The Santa Barbara Police Department's K9, Loki, is retiring.
The eight-year-old German Shepard served the department for nearly six years, partnered with Sgt. Miller.
The police department says that during their time together, the duo was responsible for 183 narcotic "sniffs," 149 building searches, and 63 arrest apprehensions.
Loki will now transition into becoming the Miller family dog. He will also receive a mayoral proclamation at Tuesday night's city council meeting.
The police department recently brought two new dogs into the K9 program, which is largely funded through private donations.
