UPDATE (12:03 a.m.) - One person is dead in an apparent homicide and a suspect was killed by Santa Barbara police.
Officers responded to a report of a family disturbance at the home of actor Ron Ely on the 4100 block of Mariposa in Hope Ranch after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say an elderly female was found dead upon officer arrival.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office ordered a neighborhood lock-down within a one-mile radius of the home.
Deputies found the suspect after a search of the property.
Police say the suspect presented a threat and deputies opened fire, killing the suspect.
The sheriff's office has since lifted the shelter-in-place requirement for the surrounding neighborhood and police say there is no threat to the public.
Officers believe only one suspect was involved.
The identities of the homicide victim and suspect have not yet been released.
An investigation is ongoing and officers will remain on scene overnight.
Police say actor Rony Ely, known for his role as Tarzan in the 1966 NBC Series 'Tarzan,' is alive.
