Santa Barbara Co. health officials report 19% decrease in new COVID-19 cases

Santa Barbara County Health officials are reporting a 19-percent decrease in new COVID-19 cases compared to the county's two-week average.

The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department says there are 187 new cases Sunday.

More than 1,000 cases remain active, which health officials say is a 28-percent drop from the two-week average.

Free community coronavirus testing sites are open in Santa Maria, Lompoc, Buellton, and Goleta.

A mobile testing unit is also now open at Ryon Park in Lompoc.

Walk-in only testing is available at the following locations (no appointment required):

  • Isla Vista Theater, 960 Embarcadero del Norte - Noon to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Santa Maria Health Care Center, 2115 S. Centerpoint Parkway - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays
