Friday evening, administrators with San Luis High School contacted the San Luis Obispo Police Department about a threatening message found inside one of the bathrooms.

According to a press release, the words "school shooter" were found written on a mirror inside the restroom.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department's School Resource Officer and Detectives are currently conducting an investigation to determine who is responsible for writing this message.

San Luis High staff and parents of the students have been notified of the incident in a message stating:

"SLOHS Families and Staff, This notice is to provide you with an update on the vandalism incident which occurred in the restrooms yesterday, November 21, 2019. After further investigation, we discovered previously unidentified text in smaller writing which said "school shooter". We continue to consider this a serious incident and will continue to follow up with SLOPD to ensure student safety and a full and thorough investigation. We had a similar situation at Laguna Middle School that was resolved this week. Please let us know if you have any information regarding this incident."

Police say they are uncertain of the circumstances behind the message.

Right now the school district is on a holiday break until December 2.
