Robbery suspect ties up clerk, steals money from Check into Cash in Morro Bay

Morro Bay Police search for suspect in armed robbery at Check into Cash in Morro Bay.

Police say reports of a robbery came in at around 5:40 p.m. at 10655 Kennedy Way.

According to police, the suspect brandished a gun and ordered the clerk to open the safe.

The suspect then reportedly tied up the clerk, and locked her inside the restroom. The clerk says she was tied up in the bathroom for about 10 minutes before she was able to get free from the duct tape and call police.

Police are unsure if the suspect fled in a car or on foot.

The suspect was able to steal some cash, however it is unknown at this time how much money was taken.

Morro Bay Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are reviewing the security footage.

Police say this is the second time this location has been robbed since December of last year.
