If you are seeing smoke in parts of San Luis Obispo County Tuesday, it’s likely from a prescribed burn.

Beginning Tuesday and continuing over the next few weeks, CAL FIRE SLO is planning to burn hazardous vegetation in the Creston area.

It's planned for the East side of Highway 229 between Highway 58 and the town of Creston.

Burning is dependent on weather conditions and is expected to last into the New Year.

People in the area did report seeing smoke from the burn on Tuesday.
