Police have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a man in Santa Maria earlier this month.
Santa Maria police say Juan Carlos Hernandez, 29, was arrested in Mexico with help from the U.S. Marshal's Office.
Police say the victim, identified as Jose Gonzalez Medina, 33, was involved in an altercation the afternoon of Oct. 6, which led to the shooting in front of 805 Tacos on the 1000 block of West Main Street.
A day later, police identified Hernandez as a suspectin the case.
